
Joshua Hood is a Writer and Producer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He first picked up a camera at three-years-old, and has never put one down since.
Joshua began his writing career at the age of 13, self-publishing a series of three children’s books entitled Teddy the Tour Boat. The series was a quick success, and became a bestseller at Winnipeg bookstore McNally Robinson.
At the age of 15, he began working in television with Shaw TV Winnipeg as a Producer/Editor, creating content with the channel for three years. Joshua has edited hundreds of hours of local television, produced dozens of news-style stories, short and full-length documentaries, and acted as Showrunner for three seasons of his award-winning comedy series, Millworth.

Working as a Script Supervisor in the Manitoba Film Industry, Joshua has worked on several major productions in the province, including CTV Comedy's #1 Series, Acting Good, eOne's Orphan: First Kill, and Lionsgate's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Alongside Joshua's passion for strong stories and children’s television, he is a vocal advocate for active and public transportation. Joshua was invited to the Canadian Urban Transit Association’s Young Leader’s Summit in 2019, and worked with transit professionals across the country to pitch an education program for children. Joshua is currently creating and writing original television, with a mission to tell stories for everyone.
